Weekend Recap: A Rainy 4th

It's that time of week again!
Reliving my weekend through these recap posts has really been a lot of fun and are a great way to look back on great times!
Unfortunately, my weekend was filled with thunderstorms, rain, and gloomy clouds for the most part, but I still managed to squeeze in some fun the few times the sun decided to come out!

4th of July Friday!

A little glimpse of my outfit.

I was pin-spired to paint some patriotic nails for the holiday. And in case you were wondering, the design on the pin looked much better than mine.  xD

In honor of the holiday, CM and I decided to try grilling for the first time and it was ridiculously hot really fun!

Our "Let's pose like we actually know what were doing" picture.

Our finished products. Shoutout to CM's mom for teaching us how to grill and also how to not burn the entire place down. (Note the dark clouds rolling in. We made it just in time before a tremendous downpour)

And nothing says 'Murica! like a giant chocolate chip cookie with firework icing!

Saturday:
My Saturday plans were cancelled due to the horrific storm looming over us for what seemed to be the entire day. After a few quick errands I stayed indoors for the rest of the day taking care of some far-from-exciting to-dos.

What I picked up from the happiest place on earth aka Target. Super random but that's the beauty of Target right? I'm a sucker for the Dunkin' Donuts coffee creamer and the Whale crackers from the $1 section.

Sunday:
My Saturday plans became my Sunday plans which happened to be a date with my very first pre-school teacher! She has known me ever since I was a 2 year old and although I cried pretty much every day in her classroom, she is hands down my favorite teacher. She's become more of an aunt to me now and although I don't get to see her all too often, it is always nice to catch up.

We had breakfast at this cute little German/French/English inspired cafe (yeah, confusing). The croissant was heavenly though!

Our next stop was a local plant nursery that is honestly the most adorable little place. For her upcoming birthday I wanted to buy her a plant as she is big into gardening.  If it wasn't for the constant drizzle, we could have spent all afternoon there.

Gardening, well at least trying to garden, was something on my Summer Bucket list this year. #20goingon50 I had come across a Groupon for this specific nursery so I figured it would be a great time to try. Here is what I decided on. Two beautiful annual flowers and a mint plant. I was going for easy to care for plants that were also really summery. Expect updates on them later this summer!

And with that was another weekend in the books.
How was your 4th of July Weekend? I'd love to know!

  2. It stinks that your plans were ruined by storms! But yay for learning to grill! Also, that shirt you wore on the 4th was super cute. And I'm jealous of the giant cookie.

  3. Thanks! And I know, but that's the struggle of living with FL weather unfortunately. Thanks for stopping by!
